As your performance coach, I’ll be fully committed to you and your goals. And, I have a goal of my own: to give you the confidence, clarity, and capability to achieve what you desire.

Coaching from the Inside

Sometimes, your mindset needs to grow in order to get what you want in the world. If this is the case with you, I’ll help you from the inside out – making adjustments to your mindset, expectations, and self-beliefs.

Here are a few approaches you can expect from me if we’re working on your mindset:

Coaching from the Outside

It may be that the actions and behaviors you show others – and how other people perceive these actions and behaviors – need to be changed if you expect to achieve your most ambitious goals. To change what you do, I’ll help you from the outside in, starting with what you do rather than why you do it.

We’ll work with some of these approaches if we’re focused on your actions:

Look at your language

  • Focus on what others actually hear you say
  • Replace negative language with neutral and positive language
  • Measure your “Both/And” vs. your “Either/Or” speech patterns

Look at your behaviors

  • Do others see you as too forceful or are you participative?
  • Do those around you know what to expect, or are you capricious, impulsive, and unpredictable?
  • Are you passive, aggressive, or passive-aggressive?

Look at your skill set

  • How you deliver your pitches and presentations
  • How you lead others, run meetings, and give feedback
  • How you strategize, make decisions, delegate, assign projects, and create workflow

Dealing with the Inner Critic and Imposter Syndrome

These are two specific mindset issues that I’ve come to specialize in. If you’re suffering from endless self-criticism from that annoying voice in your head, or if you feel you’re going through life as an imposter, I’ve got good news for you:

You can change.
You can think more clearly.
You can feel in charge.
You can be confident.
You can have helpful thoughts.

Seeing Yourself as Others See You

The first step in making “outside-in” coaching successful is often a 360 evaluation. If a 360 survey makes sense for you, we’ll utilize the Leadership Versatility Index assessment tool.

A Coach, a Therapist, and a Mentor Walk into a Bar …

I believe the world would be a better place if everyone had three influential people in their lives: a therapist, a mentor, and a coach. I want to be clear that I can be your coach, definitely not your therapist, and probably not your mentor. Let’s take a quick look at each:

  • Therapist:
    • Sees where you are.
    • Offers you insight and understanding of how you got there.
  • Mentor:
    • Sees where you are.
    • Learns where you want to be.
    • Offers you their personal strategies for how they already achieved what you want.
  • Coach:
    • Sees where you are.
    • Helps you decide where you want to be.
    • Offers research-proven strategies and processes to help you achieve what you want.

Is Coaching Right for You?

On this page, you’ve seen some of what I do. There are also things I’ll need you to do:

  • You’ll need to be willing to change.
  • You’ll need to be open to suggestions and new ways of doing things.
  • You’ll need to recognize that, no matter how smart you are, some answers and solutions lie outside your own mind.
